Today, Pope Leo XIV issued a new Fundamental Law for Vatican City State, replacing the 2023 constitution and codifying recent governance reforms in a 25-article text. The new law enshrines Francis' reforms in the constitution, notably allowing a non-cardinal — including a woman — to serve as President of the Vatican City State's Pontifical Commission and Governorship. Separation of Vatican City State and the Holy See The Pope remains constitutionally supreme. Article 1 states that he holds the full legislative, executive and judicial authority, meaning there is no separation of powers at the highest level. Article 2 explains that Vatican City State exists to guarantee the independence of the Holy See but is legally distinct from the Roman Curia and the institutions of the Holy See. Although this distinction has long existed in practice, it is now stated more explicitly. The clarification has implications for diplomacy, finances and legal responsibility. Controversy in 2025 under Previous Archbishop In 2025, when the Archdiocese of Morelia was led by Monsignor Carlos Garfias Merlos, 75, the group Otro Rebaño participated in a homosexual march in Morelia. Then-Archbishop Garfias explained homosexual persons received pastoral care but that they are "sick". During his leadership, the parishes refused to host homosexual services inside churches. Leo XIV Takes Time for Punk Grandma: Pope Leo XIV received on Friday punk icon Patti Smith in a private audience at the Vatican. The Chicago-born singer shares the Pope's hometown and has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Holy See. In May, she inaugurated the Holy See Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and she previously performed for Pope Francis at the Vatican in 2014.
This morning the Pope received Patti Smith in the Vatican, originally from Chicago, like him. Last May she had inaugurated the Holy See Pavilion at the Biennale, while in 2014 she had sung for Pope Francis in the Vatican
Vatican Clergy Residence Becomes Four Star Hotel: Leo XIV has approved the conversion of the Domus Internationalis Paulus VI in Rome from a residence for clergy into a four-star hotel. This is confirmed for the first time in the 2025 APSA financial report. Retired cardinals, bishops, former nuncios, and other clergy living in the residence wrote to Leo XIV, asking that the project be halted. But the plan is moving forward and is now in its final stages. The building dates back to the 15th century and became famous in 2013 when, shortly after his election, Pope Francis returned to pay his hotel bill personally. The Vatican expects to receive approximately €5 million per year in rent from the property.
«Con il Santo Padre Francesco era stato deciso che non si poteva certamente fare un hotel a cinque stelle, per motivi di credibilità e d'immagine; alla fine sarà soltanto un quattro stelle». Un'affermazione che aveva provocato non poco imbarazzo...

Israel’s Widest Demolition Wave in Months: Israeli forces carried out demolitions across several West Bank communities, affecting homes, businesses, and farms. Near Anza, south of Jenin, owners of three buildings with 18 shops and two apartments were given 40 minutes to evacuate before demolition. Israel says the demolitions target unpermitted construction, while humanitarian groups say Palestinians in Area C are rarely granted building permits. Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also announced more home demolitions, weapons confiscations, and work permit revocations. Palestinian officials say 341 demolition operations in the first half of 2026 destroyed about 740 structures and affected 923 Palestinians.

Abp. Salvatore Cordileone on whether Pope Francis' restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass can be sustained in the long run: "To be honest, I don't think it's realistic...this is unstoppable. It's what's drawing young people in..."
Rome Makes Bombshell Announcement About The Future Of The Traditional Latin Mass No one cares what is said in Rome. Look at all the damage Montini, Woyty;a Bergoglio did to the Mass.
The Diocese of Providence in Rhode Island is holding a series of “Listening Sessions” for homosexuals and their friends at four parishes. According to the diocesan website, Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, 59, is presiding at each gathering, which includes the celebration of the Eucharist, small-group sharing, and a community dinner. The diocesan announcement opens with Pope Francis' notorious words, “Todos, Todos, Todos” (“Everyone, Everyone, Everyone”). LepantoIn.org asked the diocese whether confession would be available and whether participants would be invited to repentance and conversion in accordance with Catholic teaching. Instead of answering those questions, the diocesan communications director replied only: “As the diocesan bishop, Bishop Lewandowski has the pastoral responsibility to know and understand the spiritual needs of all the souls entrusted to his care.” Picture: LepantoIn.org, #newsVedmnhuvak
The Vatican's restrictions on the Latin Mass "isn't realistic" because young Catholics' growing attraction to the Church's liturgical tradition is "unstoppable", said Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco speaking with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN. “It's what's drawing young people in and will continue to do so." According to Monsignor Cordileone, the popularity of the Mass among younger generations makes Traditionis Custodes difficult to sustain: "To be honest, I don't think it's realistic". And: "We look at the younger generation. They all love the tradition." "They love the more classical way that the Church worships, the traditional Mass," he continued. Archbishop Cordileone challenged recent comments by Cardinal Arthur Roche, prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, who said Leo XIV would not reverse Traditionis Custodes. "I don't know how well he knows the mind of the Holy Father. But I think one thing that's clear to everyone is the Holy Father wants to bring everyone …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
Poland's Constitutional Tribunal has ruled that homosex “marriages” performed abroad cannot be entered into the country's civil registry. Doing so would violate Article 18 of the Polish Constitution, which defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The July 28 ruling comes after a series of conflicting legal decisions. In November 2025, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) held that Poland must recognize homosex marriages performed in other EU member states where necessary to protect EU free movement rights. In March, Poland's Supreme Administrative Court applied that judgment, and the government began preparing regulations to implement it. The Constitutional Tribunal has now reached the opposite conclusion, holding that foreign marriage certificates may only be transcribed if they meet the constitutional definition of marriage. The court said any change would require an amendment to the Constitution and legislation passed by Parliament - not administrative action. …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
Holiness Requires Love Amid Great Suffering St. Paul’s gospel centers on Jesus Christ’s resurrection and descent from David, fulfilling Old Testament promises. Persecution for living piously in Christ is inevitable, as the world hates the Lord. The true challenge lies in accepting persecution with charity and love, as Jesus did, rather than focusing on the injustice of others’ actions. Fr. Our Anglican "brethren" at Wells Cathedral (which was Catholic until the time of Henry VIII) have decided to stage an exhibition of "Mythical Creatures," based on a 17th-century book held in their library. Particularly striking is a fifteen-meter-long dragon—sporting rainbow colors—that soars above the few elderly congregants, baring its menacing claws at them. It serves as a true parable of what awaits us Catholics if we remain passive in the face of the brazen advance of the hierarchical "Pink Lobby." (It is astonishing to see the degree of confusion among some of the faithful—such as the person who wrote on a tag: "Dear dragon: always be kind and generous to entire human kind." As if we didn't know what the dragon symbolizes!) Visit our Blog: pagina-catolica.blogspot.com
The argument that a volunteer military is expendable is deeply troubling. Millions of trained and willing individuals could confront an unprepared US force Iran has 2 million soldiers. Another 2 million will readily and willing to pick up an AK or something and go fight. You now have 4 million people. Conservative Archbishop Alexander K. Sample of Portland, Oregon attacked in an in-house interview on Youtube.com on July 28 the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). Main quotes. • "The FSSPX's recent consecration of bishops without a papal mandate takes the situation to a whole new level. They are now the second time bishops have been consecrated." • "They see themselves as the faithful remnant, as though the rest of the Church is wrong and they alone are right. Folks, please don't be in that position." • "I don't attribute any ill will to these folks. They're sincere in wanting to preserve tradition and be faithful Catholics. But they have in fact become something else now, especially in light of these recent consecrations." • "They still mention the Pope in the Eucharistic Prayer, but it's just words. It's not a real communion. They give lip service." Summorum Pontificum Not About FSSPX • "Everybody thinks that Pope Benedict issued Summorum Pontificum... to bring them back …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi

Benedict himself: he said he issued Summorum Pontificum in order to reconcile the Church with her past." That statement has implications. The Catholic Church has no need what so ever of reconciling herself with her past. If she did she would not be Catholic by definition. If the church is in a state of unreconciliation she is estranged. Pope Benedict knew this. For this reason he issued the Summorum pontificum freeing up the Mass. He gave it three years. Having received feedback on its implementation he issued a set of clarifications and gave it another 3 years. Our Lord has provided us with a parable that appears to describe Benedict’s action. The tree that gave no fruit and the husband man who besought his master not to cut it down until he tried to resuscitate it.
