Ekumenizmas gimsta kasdienybėje. Sausio 15-ąją Romoje esanti popiežiškoji kolegija RUSSICUM šventė Kalėdas bei minėjo Naujuosius metus pagal senąjį Julijaus kalendorių. Šis renginys buvo tarsi įvadas į ekumeninę savaitę, kurią Bažnyčia mini sausio 18–25 dienomis. Kolegiją „Russicum" 1929 metais popiežius Pijus XI įsteigė stačiatikių studentams, pasitraukusiems iš bolševikinės Rusijos. Šiandien jėzuitų prižiūrimoje kolegijoje gyvena stačiatikių, Romos katalikų, graikų katalikų studentai, atvykę studijuoti į Romą. Sausio viduryje vykusios šventės programa pristatė įvairias kultūrines tradicijas - koncerto metu kolegijos studentai ir svečiai iš kitų Romos kolegijų atliko įvairius muzikinius kūrinius savo gimtosiomis kalbomis.
