Unlocking Catholic Social Teaching: Dr. Martinez Introduces the Ave Maria Economics Course
"God did not call us from the eyebrows down—He wants us to use our brains." Dr. Gabriel Martinez joins us to shatter the myth of the 'divided life' in business and economics. Every financial, corporate, or political decision we make isn't just a technical choice—it's a deeply human, moral decision. Dr. Gabriel Martinez, economics professor at Ave Maria University, steps into the living room to introduce a groundbreaking, completely free online resource: the Ave Maria Economics Course, hosted by The Pursuit of Wisdom. Condensing three full semesters of dense academic material into seven clear, highly accessible lectures, Dr. Martinez bridges the gap between modern market principles and the foundational pillars of Catholic Social Teaching. He unpacks why popular political ideologies often distort Church teaching by overemphasizing one truth (like human dignity or solidarity) while completely abandoning …Mai

The Rio Grande River in Arizona is completely dry in many locations They don’t want you to know, the majority of this water has been sold off over the past 5 years - A huge amount goes to agriculture, about 87% - Mexico gets an enormous amount of the water because of the US-Mexico Water Treaty Mexico is supposed to send about 1/3 of the water from certain rivers that flow into the Rio Grande to the US, mainly for Texas farmers - Minimum: Average of 350,000 acre-feet per year or 1.75 million over 5 years. - Mexico keeps the other 2/3 of that water for its own farms and cities - The US sends Mexico a lot of water from the Colorado River about 1.5 million acre feet per year During 2020-2025 Mexico only delivered about 50% of the water it owed to the United States at the end of the 5 year period Mexico continues to keep way more than their agreed share

Trump Administration Rolls Back Dozens of Gun Regulations
Critics say the administration is weakening public safety. Proponents say regulations would be where they were before President Joseph R. Biden took office.

Reporting from Washington
July 5, 2026 The Trump administration is scrapping more than three dozen firearms regulations, abandoning a crackdown on illegal sales, restoring gun rights to some people with mental illness and loosening oversight of private weapons transactions.
The drastic retrenchment at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the federal agency responsible for enforcing the nation’s gun laws, was not entirely unexpected: President Trump campaigned as a champion of gun …Mai

[EN/DE] 🚨 SHOCKING CLASH: Donald Trump CALLS POPE LEO XIV “AN INSULT TO JESUS” — THE POPE’S RESPONSE STUNS THE WORLD
Donald Trump believed he could score easy political points by calling Pope Leo XIV “an insult to Jesus,” after the spiritual leader once again spoke out in defense of peace, compassion, and human dignity. However, he was challenging a voice rooted not in politics, but in moral authority.

Standing before a solemn gathering at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV did not respond with anger. Instead, he delivered a powerful and deeply moving message grounded in faith, responsibility, and truth.
“The President of the United States has said that I insult Jesus,” Pope Leo XIV began, his voice calm yet firm. “But let us reflect honestly — what truly insults the teachings of Christ?”
Then, with quiet intensity, he answered:
“You want to know what truly insults Jesus? It is when we turn away from those who suffer, when we close …Mai

Oslo Bishop Responds to FSSPX Consecrations: "I Will Expand the Roman Rite in the Diocese"

Bishop Fredrik Hansen of Oslo, Norway, issued a July 3 statement following the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX).
He said the two consecrating bishops and the four newly consecrated bishops had removed themselves from ecclesial communion and unity with the Pope: “This is sad, painful, and calls us to prayer and penance.” He urged Catholics to pray the Rosary for the unity of the Church on the Feast of Saint Sunniva, July 8.
Monsignor Hansen repeated Cardinal Tucho Fernández’s explanation that the consecrations were a schismatic act and that the priests “can no longer validly grant absolution in the sacrament of confession.”
He also urged Catholics to refrain from attending FSSPX Masses and other activities.
Addressing FSSPX faithful directly, he wrote: “I understand that these are difficult and distressing days for you. You may find yourselves pulled in different directions, and perhaps stand bewildered before all that has now come to pass.”
He …Mai

Priest from excommunicated sect says future pope will reverse Vatican move
This whole excommunication things is appearing more and more to be one huge joke, I know no one taking this matter seriously.
Where is Pope St Pius X when you need him?

Luke Nutley

Did the 12 Apostles have to put up with this Vatican bureaucracy tit a tat? No. Why? Because Christ our Savior was their be all and end all. I doubt there are 4 priests today who could believe and declare Jesus Christ as their be all and end. They are too fretted with their standing and how they appear to others instead of Christ.
It is sickening.

Protocol numbers are how Vatican departments organize their filing; a letter or submission is assigned a protocol number so that all the relevant documents are kept together in the right file. “Prot. No. 99/2009” is not a new file from 2026, but a file from 2009, specifically from Pope Benedict XVI’s lifting of the excommunications incurred in 1988.

What John Paul II Left Implicit Is Now Explicit: SSPX Is in Schism

COMMENTARY: Pope Leo XIV has chosen, with discretion, to end the failed outreach of Pope Benedict XVI to the SSPX. On July 2, 1988, Pope St. John Paul II wrote that the illicit ordination of bishops by the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) constituted a schismatic act, not only for the six bishops involved then, but for all those who “formally adhere” to it. Thirty-eight years later to the day, the SSPX again having ordained bishops without a pontifical mandate, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) clarified what John Paul meant, by means of a decree and an explanatory note. What John Paul left implied is now explicit — all the priests of the SSPX are “in schism and subject to the penalty of excommunication.” That applies too to the lay faithful who “formally adhere” to the schism, for example, by supporting the illicit ordination of bishops, or by exclusively frequenting the SSPX chapels. The July 2 decree from the DDF — issued the day after the SSPX episcopal ordinations in …

Ave Crux

An act of disobedience (not schism) compelled by priestly and episcopal moral conscience and duty, and the spiritual needs of 700,000 faithful Catholics in their care, while begging for the assistance and collaboration of the Holy See -- which was refused to their sincere pleas -- does not constitute a failure to be subject to the Roman Pontiff, nor of schism. Even Father Gerald Murray, a well-known Canon Lawyer who opposed the Consecrations says as much. You will find his commentary elsewhere on Gloria.TV

German feminist Verena Brunschweiger promotes the slogan “My lineage ends with me.” She calls for people, especially White people, to stop having children. She claims that Western pro-natalists only want to “control women, and keep refugees out." Brunschweiger said that Europeans are to blame for the poor quality of life in Africa, and she would invite the entire world to Europe. "So I would take all immigrants and refugees in because we ruined the world, so to speak." "We produce the climate change which makes the life in Africa, for instance, miserable and horrible. So of course, why not invite [them] if they want to come?”

"My creatures should see and know that I wish nothing but their good, through the Blood of My only-begotten Son, in which they are washed from their iniquities. By this Blood they are enabled to know My Truth, how, in order to give them eternal life, I created them in My image and likeness and re-created them to grace with the Blood of My Son, making them sons of adoption."

‘Of the imperfection of those who love GOD for their own profit…’ ~ 'The Dialogue' of Saint Catherine of Siena; 1907; A TREATISE OF DISCRETION; pp. 142-144, part I

[Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; born: Siena, Republic of Siena/died: Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church]
Of the imperfection of those who love GOD for their own profit, delight, and consolation.
"Some there are who have become faithful servants, serving Me with fidelity without servile fear of punishment, but rather with love.
This very love, however, if they serve Me with a view to their own profit, or the delight and pleasure which they find in Me, is imperfect. Dost thou know what proves the imperfection of this love ? The withdrawal of the consolations which they found in Me, and the insufficiency and short duration of their love for their neighbour, which grows weak by degrees, and ofttimes disappears. Towards Me their love grows weak when, on occasion, in order to exercise them in virtue and raise them above their imperfection, I withdraw from their minds My consolation and allow them to fall …Mai
