Leo XIV Appoints Third Man in Vatican - Praised the Abu Dhabi Document as New Foundation

On 30 March, Pope Leo XIV appointed Archbishop Paolo Rudelli as Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, making him the Vatican’s third most senior official.
Born in Gazzaniga, Italy in 1970, Monsignor Rudelli was ordained to the priesthood in 1995. He studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University and joined the Vatican diplomatic service in 2001.
After serving in nunciatures in Ecuador and Poland, he worked in the Secretariat of State before being appointed Permanent Observer to the Council of Europe from 2014 to 2019. In 2019, Pope Francis personally consecrated him as a bishop and appointed him as Apostolic Nuncio.
He served as Nuncio to Zimbabwe (2020–2023) and to Colombia (2023–2026).
As a senior Vatican diplomat, Monsignor Rudelli is accustomed to maintaining message discipline and avoiding polarising issues.

"When Pope Francis proposes fraternity as the foundation of social friendship and the pursuit of the common good, we could say that he proposes fraternity as the foundation of a universal ethic," Archbishop Rudelli said.

The very stone where JESUS fell to the ground still preserved today

Gethsemane in Jerusalem is the place where the Passion of Christ began. In this short video, you see the olive garden, the Basilica of the Agony, and the stone venerated as the place where Jesus prayed in deep agony before his arrest and crucifixion.

The Garden of Gethsemane was purchased in 1681 by three brothers, Bosniak Croats from Sarajevo — Pavao, Antun, and Jakov Branković. They bought the land from its then Ottoman owners and, out of deep devotion, donated it to the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land.
Since then, the Franciscans have cared for this sacred place, preserving it for Christians around the world.

Just another bone. How about you get rid of the satanist in our schools? How about stopping them from teaching children about it after school? How about kicking them out or banning them in the US as Russia has done. How about putting strict laws like Russia has on gays ? NO? Nor will you see anything of significance like that be done. Just a few bones here and there. And such tiny bones no less.

MEANWHILE IN GERMANY:
Former FDP MP and Israel lobbyist Hartmut Ebbing was caught with child sexual abuse videos. He asked the court for a secret trial to protect the German-Israeli Society (DIG), where he was treasurer. The court agreed. He got a suspended sentence. Later convicted of abusing a 7-year-old. Only then did he resign, after nearly a year managing DIG funds, including German taxpayer money. Both FDP and DIG claimed they “knew nothing.”

Private Audience with Leo XIV for €500,000

Spain is preparing for the June visit of Pope Leo XIV and the country’s bishops have introduced a controversial fundraising model: major donors can gain exclusive access to the pope.
The Spanish Bishops’ Conference has created a five-tier donation system.
At the top, “Great Benefactors” (€500,000-€1 million) are promised a private meeting with the pope, a Vatican working session, and VIP seating at events.
“Benefactors” (€250,000-€500,000) receive similar perks, though without a private audience.
Lower tiers offer recognition, titles, or public acknowledgment.
Organizers say the goal is to reduce the burden on taxpayers, as the trip is expected to cost €15 - €30 million.
Donations are also tax-deductible, and sponsors are offered global visibility, with millions expected to attend or watch.

Trump Considering Pulling Out of NATO Over Lack of Support from 'Allies' in Iran Conflict - Slay News

President Donald Trump said he is strongly considering withdrawing the United States from NATO after European allies declined to support his administration’s efforts in the escalating conflict with Iran, according to a report.
The president has long criticized the alliance.
However, he has now indicated that reevaluating U.S. participation in NATO is no longer hypothetical.
Trump Criticizes NATO as Weak and Unreliable
“I was never swayed by NATO,” Trump
reportedly told The Telegraph.
“I always knew they were a paper tiger, and Putin knows that too, by the way,” Trump added.
The comments followed reports that European nations refused requests to deploy warships to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The critical global shipping route, which carries roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply, has been shut down by the Iranian regime.
Trump suggested that allied inaction underscored longstanding concerns about burden-sharing within the so-called “alliance.”

"Amoris Laetitia" Was a "Breakthrough" for Church - Cardinal Schönborn

Pope Francis’ post-synodal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia, published on April 8, 2016, was a “breakthrough” for the Church. This was stated by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, 81, of Vienna, who had presented the document at the Vatican ten years ago, in an interview with Kathpress.at on March 30.
In a footnote, Francis "allowed" adulterers to grab Holy Communion using the case-by-case trick. Cardinal Schönborn commented: "That Pope Francis addressed the question of whether divorced and remarried persons may receive Communion only in a small footnote deeply moved me personally."
“When I take the document from my bookshelf or even just think about it, it still brings me to tears,” he added.
For many people in the Church - and for him personally - the document represented a “huge sigh of relief.” The reason, he explained, is that Francis speaks “about real life.”

The cancellation of the second World Children’s Day follows another decision made in February that brought a structural change by placing the initiative under the integrated management of the Roman Curia. Leo XIV dissolved the Pontifical Commission for World Children’s Day, a body created in 2024 by his predecessor, Pope Francis, for organizational matters.
As a result, the president, vice president, and all members of the body — including Father Enzo Fortunato, who had served as president of the committee — automatically ceased their functions.

Vatican cancels 2026 World Children’s Day

VATICAN CITY — The Vatican has canceled the second World Children’s Day, which had been scheduled to take place in Rome Sept. 25–27, about six weeks after Pope Leo XIV dissolved the commission responsible for its organization.
The Dicastery for the Laity, the Family, and Life announced the decision March 27, saying it had “considered it appropriate to cancel the celebration of the Second World Children’s Day, initially scheduled to take place in Rome from Sept. 25 to 27, 2026.”
According to the official statement, the dicastery opted not to hold the international gathering in Rome and instead pointed to a more decentralized approach rooted in local communities.
“All initiatives aimed at the pastoral care of children may be celebrated, at the discretion of the ordinaries, at a diocesan or parish level and with the involvement of families, the proper place for the human and spiritual growth of every child,” the statement said, adding that the decision was made “after careful consideration …

Dr. Roger Seheult just revealed one of the biggest studies on sunlight. A massive Swedish study followed 30,000 women for over 20 years and found that those who actively sought sun exposure had dramatically lower death rates from cancer, heart disease, and all causes.
The shocking part? Sun avoiders had roughly double the overall mortality. Even heavy smokers who got plenty of sun had similar death rates to non-smokers who avoided it. Leo XIV "Interested" in Solving Tensions around Roman Rite - French Bishop

During the January consistory, Leo XIV told Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline of Marseille, France, of his wish to explore avenues for resolving the tensions surrounding the Roman rite, La-croix.com reports, citing anonymous sources.
One bishop, who also wished to remain anonymous, said that Leo XIV is allegedly "extremely interested in the question and asked us to think something through".
Another bishop, who has spoken with Leo XIV about the Roman rite, said that "for the Pope, what is done in France serves as a model" for other countries.
"It is the first time I have heard so clearly that the subject must be addressed at a theological level and not just in a pastoral and emotional way," he added.
Another anonymous bishop, from the southeast, said: "Behind the attraction to beauty and the sacred, there is a whole theological debate that some do not perceive: a distant God versus a God who draws near - encompassing a whole relationship with the world, freedom of conscience and interreligious …Has köp
